Best Tech Christmas Presents 2020

Best Tech Christmas Presents 2020

While this isn’t going to be the perfect Christmas we all imagined and hoped for, one way or another, we will still be able to give presents. But with so much new and improved tech on the market, what do you go for?

If you want to really impress your friends and family it’s hard to look past the newest gadgets. Phones, headphones, computers and all household tech seem to improve dramatically year by year, which makes it harder to keep up with the technology.

The improvement in tech in 2020 has been no different, with all the big tech companies releasing their new shiny products just in time for the holiday season. Apple released new iPhones, Macbooks and IPads, and Sony and Microsoft released their new hotly anticipated games consoles.

But when we’re looking at the new iPhone’s or laptops it can get very confusing when trying to figure out which one is actually best. That is why we’ve done the hard work for you and picked out the best tech Christmas presents of 2020.

iPhone 12 Mini

This petite version of the new iPhone 12 is something Apple hasn’t done for a while in a sense that it is the exact same phone, just smaller. In the past, we have seen cheaper versions of the new iPhone with the iPhone SE, for example. The mini combines the sleek new exterior with the super retina XDR OLED display and Apple’s new A14 Bionic chip to create a phone that can hold its own against the best phones in the world. In comparison to the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max, you will see a slightly less powerful engine and slightly diminished battery life, which is a satisfactory compromise for the reduced price.

Most importantly, this phone feels and performs like a new top-quality flagship phone. A lot of people even prefer the smaller form factor to the larger models.

The more affordable price and stellar performance put the iPhone 12 Mini at the top of the list for the best tech Christmas present of 2020.

Electric Bike

With most people being trapped in their houses thanks to multiple lockdowns, a lot of people have taken up cycling as a way to get outside and stay fit. One of the biggest bike and outdoor retailers in the UK, Halfords, announced that sales of bikes in 2020 had risen significantly in 2020, with sales of e-bikes rising more than 200%! If you have a keen cycler of someone that has been going on about getting a bike in the family, this might just be the perfect present.

Electric bikes are great for staying active while saving the environment. The electric component doesn’t completely take over, allowing you to travel further distances as the cycling becomes less taxing. These bikes are also great for reacquainting yourself with cycling or building up stamina after some time away.

With so many great bikes to choose from, we have selected three great e-bikes in an affordable price range.

Pendleton Somerby

This classic looking bike can provide over 50 miles of electric support with the small unassuming battery.

Assist Hybrid

This bike has small 20-inch wheels and is ideal for commuters. The small form factor still has enough juice to assist for 20 miles and comes in at under £600.

Carrera Vengeance

This mountain bike is the most expensive of the three but is considered one of the best electric mountain bikes on the market. With superb suspension and a large battery, you could be climbing mountains with ease.

Sony Headphones – WH-1000XM4

Widely considered as some of the best over-ear headphones on the market, this would make a great Christmas present for almost anyone. With up to 20 hours of battery life, flawless Bluetooth connectivity, unbelievable noise-cancelling and of course, excellent sound quality, these Sony headphones had to join the list of the best tech Christmas presents of 2020.

If you really wanted to splash the cash, you could pair this spectacular pair of headphones with the new iPhone 12 Mini for a present that won’t be forgotten anytime soon.

While this list could have easily been filled with over 100 tech presents, we have selected a few that would be a great option for almost anyone. Everyone uses a phone, everyone likes to (or should) keep fit, and everyone listens to music. Buying a gift for the tech lover in the family can often be tricky and pricey. While the newest tech presents don’t come cheap, you can often find the previous 2019 version at a much-reduced price once the new one has come out, and, most of the times,  there isn’t too much difference.
